Daily Lectio Divina: God’s Grandeur

Daily Lectio Divina: God’s Grandeur

Episode 496

In this episode of the guided lectio divina podcast, we’re continuing our Lenten series in partnership with Formation Foundations, a guided reflection series for Common House. This week, we’re further exploring the posture of grace and its “unforced rhythms.” We’re gleaning from the wisdom of Jesuit poet Gerard Manley Hopkins this week, and today we’re reading a selection from “God’s Grandeur.”

…And for all this, nature is never spent;
There lives the dearest freshness deep down things;
And though the last lights off the black West went
Oh, morning, at the brown brink eastward, springs —
Because the Holy Ghost over the bent
World broods with warm breast |&| with ah! bright wings.
