In this episode of the guided lectio divina podcast, we’re continuing our series on the ancient form of Chinese poetry called shan-shui, or Rivers-and-Mountains, using selections from The Mountain Poems of Hsieh Ling-yun.  Today we’re using a selection from “On a tower beside the lake.”

Isolate dwelling so easily becomes forever.
It’s hard settling the mind this far apart,

but not something ancients alone master:
that serenity is everywhere apparent here.
